Rega Mira 3 is one of the most venerable amplifiers on the market it is designed based on Mira 2000 model back in 2002 but appeared on the market two years later. According to some rumors, the reason was that Roy Gandhi chief engineer competent in traps, decided to test the technique at home and make sure that it will sound as they should. Rumor or not, every product from brand Rega astonish with its originality, simplicity and conceptual completeness.
All components of the Mira 3 is located in a standard technique Rega molded case which can be easily recognized by typical cylindrical recess of the top panel and wide ribbing on the bottom. The amplifier comes in black and silver finish. On appearance as you would hardly say that before you stands a miracle of technology, but raising the lid of the amplifier will be convinced otherwise. Mira 3 has quite developed microprocessor control system (including even the possibility to enter tuning sensitivity of the inputs). Moreover, the only regulator of front panel serves not only amplification but also for the encoder wheel 20 and red LEDs around it except the output power level displays and operating modes.
In Mira 3 has everything you need to work with external devices such as a 5 line inputs, output for tape recorder, built fonokorektor MM / MC, output amplifier and of course, two pairs of terminals for acoustics. Anyway most interest causes the system to regulate the volume. Responsible for this micro-processor system Rega Alpha-Encoder Type 3, but regulation is not implemented in digital form, but in a discreet with a connection signal via resistive matrix (80 degrees).
How sound amplifier?
Lets start with the first impression it is the most powerful, but is characterized by moderate dynamic temperament, suitable for listening to classical and jazz. Ing has extremely wide range at low frequencies, it is perfectly able to control both monitors, and large floor columns. Sound quality through the phono vhoda deserves more praise simply superb. There is only one claim on the sound stage the instruments in the high frequency spectrum is less sharply localized, as it should, the source literally hold up the acoustics tweeters. The remaining images in the sound stage is extremely accurate focus, scale. Bass instruments are live, without any clear tremendous depth, the mid range is ideal prorisuvan.
Technical specifications:
Power (two channels) 2 x 61 W 8 ohm
Power (one channel) 1 x 115 W 4 ohm
Dimensions 430 x 270 x 100 mm
Weight 8 kg
Rega Maia 3
85 watt per channel high performance audio power amplifier housed in the Rega custom built extruded aluminium case. The amplifier has a fully protected output stage with DC and electronic thermal protection, and a power monitor for both transformers. High quality Evox capacitors have been used in the signal path throughout.
